She's too confused by the bundle thrust into her hands to think about giving chase. By the time she opens it up and finds both the gift and the note inside, that kid is long gone. She stares down at the note a while, lip slightly curled, vaguely entertaining the idea of throwing the glasses down and crushing them beneath her boot.
